Admission Requirements:
The minimum requirement for admission into the Graduate School is a baccalaureate degree with at least a 3.00 gradepoint average (on a 4.00 scale). Normally, students who are admitted into the chemical engineering graduate program exceed this requirement and are expected to have a baccalaureate degree in chemical engineering. Admission of students from related fields is described in the section entitled "The Conversion Program."

Applicants whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL scores. A minimum score of 580 is required for admission to the graduate program in Chemical Engineering.

Deadlines
Applications for admission, starting in either the fall or spring semester, will be considered at any time. Most financial support, however, is allocated before April 15 for the academic year starting in August. To guarantee being considered for assistantships for fall semester, and to be eligible for fellowships, completed applications must be received by the Graduate School no later than
March 1. Assistantships are also available to begin in the spring semester. To be considered for these assistantships, completed applications must be received no later than October 1.

Because it takes time to process the application for admission and obtain a visa once admission has been given, the Graduate School has established firm applications deadlines for international applicants. Deadlines are as follows:
APPLYING FROM:
FOR FALL SEMESTER
(beginning mid-August)
FOR SPRING SEMESTER
(begining mid January)
Outside the US March 1 July 1
Within the US and Canada April 1 August 1
